I really am a big kid…when you’re an eternal bachelor you get to a point where you’re like, “Hey, if a girl can’t deal with the fact that I watch cartoons, draw comics, and enjoy a lot of childish things, then we probably wouldn’t get along.”
Oddly one of the main questions I’m asked is if I take drugs because of my crazy drawing style and color choices. The answer is NO! I’ve never taken drugs. I just remained in contact with my child-self. So in my mind it’s like 5-year old Evan never left. Thus, why I still draw with crayons and kid’s markers, and use intense colors, and draw dinosaurs, and might seem a little crazy due to my drawing subject matter.
I guess it’s a good weed-out process since I don’t have plans on changing who I am. I did that enough in the past to try to impress girls and it doesn’t work. I feel like it’s better policy not to hide that I’m a big kid, and if people don’t like that, then they probably aren’t my friend.
